Biography

Dr Gitanjali Fernandez graduated from the prestigious Madras Medical College , Chennai and continued to do her post graduation in the same college. She has immense passion and zeal for Ophthalmology with special interest in Medical Retina. She has been trained under the guidance of big doyens in Ophthalmology – Dr Babu Rajendran and Dr Janakiraman. She has great experience in Fundus fluorescein angiography, Optical Coherence Tomography, Retinal photocoagulation. She has more than 8 years working experience, has vast experience in Ophthalmology.

She underwent her Medical Retina training at The Eye Research Foundation, Vijaya Hospitals, Chennai. She also underwent a 3 month training in Retinal Lasers and Intravitreal injection at MN Eye Hospitals, Chennai . She successfully completed her Phaco training at Arvind Eye Hospitals, Madurai. She periodically updates herself by attending workshops, CME and conferences

Biography

Dr Nigel Peter Symss got his degree in medicine from Bangalore University. He later completed his DNB in Neuro-Surgery form National Board of Examinations. Dr Symss is currently practising at Gleneagles Global Hospital in Chennai. He has also received multiple fellowships in his career in the field of Paediatric Neurosurgery, Spinal and Micro neurosurgery, and Functional Neurosurgery from Jikei University School of Medicine, Japan and Flinders Medical School, Australia respectively.

Apart from the conventional education, Dr Symms has gained certification and upgraded his skill set by attending workshops on Skull Base Microsurgery, Neuro Endoscopic Surgery, Neuro endoscopic Spine Surgery, and Neuro-vascular Interventional Surgery. Dr Nigel has also had experience in teaching and his research has been published in many peer-reviewed national and international publications.

Dr Lakshminarayanan K. graduated with M.B.B.S. from Govt. Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai and later obtained a Masters in Paediatrics and Doctorate of Medicine in paediatric neurology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Being a bright student throughout his academic life, Dr Lakshminarayanan has received many awards of excellence. He was awarded as the ‘Best Outgoing Student 1999-2005’ by Dr Rathnavel Subramanian Endowment. He then completed his fellowship in Epilepsy at The Royal Childrens’ Hospital, Melbourne. He has actively participated in 11th International Course on Epilepsy: Brain exploration and epilepsy surgery, ANZAN EEG Course, ESA Clinical Epilepsy Course and 9th European Stereo-EEG Course.

Dr Lakshminarayanan K has worked as a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist at great Hospitals in past years. He is an active member of American Academy of Neurology, Epilepsy Society of Australia (ESA), Indian Epilepsy Society (IES), International Child Neurology Association (ICNA), Association of Child Neurology (India) (AOCN), American Association of Neuromuscular and Electro diagnostic Medicine (AANEM) and American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM). He has delivered oral presentations and poster presentations at various well renowned conferences all around the globe. He has been a principal investigator and lead author of research projects based on neuromuscular disorders. He has 13 publications in reputed national as well as international journals. He was an assistant professor in department of paediatrics at Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute. He has worked as a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist at great Hospitals in past years.

Dr Sathish Kumar V completed his graduation from Tirunelveli Medical College. He did is post graduation in General Medicine from GVSM Medical College, Kanpur and later did super specialisation in Neurology from Post Graduate Institute of Medical, Education & Research in Chandigarh. Dr Sathish has also completed a certification course by AHA NIH Stroke Scale & mRS Scale.

Dr Sathish is experienced in handling the management of acute stroke including thrombolysis and interventions, managing in-patients, critical care neurology, and muscle and nerve sampling for histopathology. He is an active member of various learned societies like Neurological Society of India, Indian Academy of Neurology, American Association of Neurology, and American Stroke Association among others.

Dr Dinesh Nayak finished his graduation in medicine from Madras University and his masters in General Medicine from The Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University. He completed his super specialisation Neurology from Sree ChitraTirunal Institute for Medical Science and Technology, Trivandrum.

Dr Dinesh has gained both clinical as well as research and training experience in more than three decades of career span. His research has been published in various peer-reviewed medical journals. He has also been actively involved in many national and international meetings. He is an active member of Indian Epilepsy Association, Neurological Society of India and Indian Academy of Neurology.
